Carolann Pona Lee, “Cheese” was born March 11th, 1959. She passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023 at Rhode Island hospital where she was surrounded by many loved ones and friends.
She was a long-time resident of Providence Rhode Island. She was a housekeeper for the past few years, and she loved and enjoyed her Job. She was the granddaughter of the late Lillian Jones James and George James. She was the daughter of the late Charles E. Pona and Merlyn F. James Pona. She was the sister of the late Dawn and Darryl Pona. Along with her surviving Siblings Cheryl Mitchell, Charles, and Victor Pona. She was the mother of Tiqua & Tonia Pona, Charles E Porter Pona JR, Dorothy T. Scurry and Eddie E. Lee JR. She was the wife of Eddie E. Lee. She was the godmother to Shanice Robinson, D’andre Mattews and Kelldrin Hall. Carol also leaves behind her companion Derrick Ruspus. She had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carol was comical and amazing, she always said I love you. She was the life of the party. She was everything and everything was her. She could do any and everything and if she couldn’t, she would make a way. Everyone will miss that beautiful smile and those beautiful eyes, the ones who never missed anything. She was tiny but she was big. She was mighty, brave, strong, loud, fearless. She was beautiful inside and out. She was proud and she loved everyone and everyone loved her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6th 2023 from 10am-12pm with a service at 12pm at The Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial private.
